The presence of stones at the urethral level is a rare event. The stones can be formed either directly in the urethra (primary forms) due to anatomical defects, such as urethral strictures, diverticula, or secondary forms, due to the migration into urethra of stones of renal, ureteral or bladder origin.
They are more frequent in adult patients with hypospadias during childhood for use during the reconstruction of the scrotal skin urethra. The consequent growth of the hairs inside the neouretra facilitates the deposit of concretions and the formation of stones.
